After a wonderful run of free community workshops, including our popular Silent Skies series at Māngere East, Wool Revolution Studio is excited to return with a brand-new programme!
Join us on Sunday 6th, 13th, and 20th September, 12 pm–3 pm, at Māngere East Library, as we bring peg loom weaving back to the community using New Zealand wool and upcycled materials. Creating warm, beautiful pieces to take home and keep.
Led by fashion designer Liz Mitchell and a team of skilled tutors, each free session welcomes people of all ages and skill levels — no experience needed. Just bring your hands and your curiosity for a relaxed, creative Sunday afternoon with your community.
Please note: spaces are limited, and places cannot be guaranteed.
Our previous workshops have been extremely popular, with many people joining on the day, so we recommend arriving early to secure your spot.
This programme is proudly supported by the Auckland Airport Community Trust, whose funding helps make these sessions free and accessible to local whānau across Māngere East and surrounding communities. It's more than a craft session. It's a chance to slow down, connect across generations, build practical skills, and discover the natural warmth of New Zealand wool, all while making something meaningful with your own hands.
We can't wait to welcome you back, or for the first time, and stay tuned, as we're hoping to add more sessions soon!
